This is us. We are not great (as our friends and family know) at keeping in regular touch and sending frequent photos. We hope to document big events and/or random good pics we though were worth sharing.

Featuring Aidan's photography

Aidan & Bertha chose to buy something for classmates.
Maya (and Mel) attempted to make our first cake pops.

Not as nice as ones I've seen in pictures. Need to get a different chocolate for outside...

Aidan's Bday

 Waiting - without peeking.
A bean bag chair - on his wish list.

 Bday cake with just family.

Making whoopie pie cookies for his classmates at school.

A snake - I forget which kind of snake he asked anaconda? - for his bday cake with friends.

Mom & Dad Ninomiya (Grandma & Grampa) were here!

They came for a few days in early January - and I didn't take many pictures! I mostly thought of it when we were sitting around the dinner table....we did nabe and oden while they were here.

Random Collection

Bertha on a walk - taking one (of many) breaks.

Scott's creation for the two of us while the kids watched a movie. Delish looking, no? Perhaps only if you're a carnivore.
Maya wanted to celebrate her doll, Jenna's, birthday - so we made cupcakes in her favourite colour BLUE.

Christmas holidays

 Hot chocolate outing downtown....
 Christmas morning excitement.
Aidan was determined to make a bear pillow. So he did. With a little help with the curves and feet.

Bertha wanted a tube sled - she got one and it's huge! She could sleep in it.
Aidan about to unveil his amp (to hook up to his electronic drum set).
Maya wanted clothing/accessories for her doll.

Baking Projects

This year, I made some mattcha shortbreads (not very sweet) - only for people who like Japanese green tea...
Gingerbread house decorating. Aidan insisted we eat it - 2 and 3 weeks later.  We didn't make this house - bought it - but it was a project that involved a baked object.
One day, we made free form bread - making it whatever shape - so long as the shapes were similar thicknesses.
Aidan made a dragon among other things.

Ta da. A porcupine. A snowperson. A snail. A bird. And now, that I've taken so long to post these pics, I don't remember what else the other buns are supposed to be.  Aidan & Maya aren't around to ask right now.

Leading up to Christmas

 Bertha was an angel.
Maya was the head angel this year.
 Aidan was a wiseman.
And what's Christmas without cookies and more cookies - this was taken one night when we talked our friend Marcelo (over for supper) to stay longer to make cookies with us.
