This is us. We are not great (as our friends and family know) at keeping in regular touch and sending frequent photos. We hope to document big events and/or random good pics we though were worth sharing.

Scott got 33 birthday bumps

Since Scott confessed to never getting birthday bumps, some four people nearly killed themselves doing 33 on Scott today.

Maya is Reading Now

She enjoys reading to everyone...including Bertha, who likes to turn pages.

Like grandson, like grandfather

Both look over their glasses....

Within 48 hours:
1) Maya turned 6
2) Mel's parents left
3) Bertha was discharged
4) Bertha's parents left

Today, Liz returned and visited. Bertha is adjusting well to being fed at home. Mel is working on her last paper for this term. Aidan spent the day at Eleanor's. Maya had school.

Bertha and her parents

Bertha has several parental figures. This is a picture of her birth parents (who were able to be in town for Bertha's surgery....and see where Bertha lives). Her other parents would include us and Liz (respite worker) & Mark (fiance, soon husband).

Bertha does enjoy spending time with her birth parents...it's just unfortunate that she doesn't look happier in this picture.

Grampa and kids

Mel's dad with kids.

Grandma reading to Maya & Aidan

Mel's mom with M&A.

Bertha Post Surgery

G-tube surgery went well. Not fun for Bertha though. She was on constant IV, catheter(?thin flexible tube inserted into her skin) in her leg for regular meds, blood testing a few times a day, cleaning around the incision, increased oxygen on the face and constantly hooked to a heart/breathing/O2 rate monitor.....i.e. many tubes attached to her at any given time for the first few days.

Maya Turned 6!

Maya turned six this past weekend! We celebrated relatively small because of Bertha in the hospital and Mel's parents visiting.

Pre-Surgery Bertha

Bertha before her G-tube surgery last week.

Aidan's Photography

Aidan really likes to take pictures of toilets, garbage cans and feet.
