Maya's Knitting Now

My friend Beth told me she would show me in minutes how to do a basic cable knit - so - I made a knitted (cable-knit) hat which prompted Maya's interest in knitting. Me telling her she would probably find it too frustrating to learn yet was probably what made her want to do it even more - to prove me wrong. It was going to be the shell for a pencil case...now, she wants it to be a blanket for one of her stuffed animals.

Aidan and Maya are naming the ants in our front yard....and Aidan is designating ant-only zones.

Birthday Cards for Daddy

Aidan's card writes "this is a picture of us and the birthday" (with a picture of us sitting around a table celebrating scott's birthday - on the bottom left side).
Maya drew 36 (one extra, by mistake) candles on the cake.
